Abra now under ‘new normal’ epidemic risk level
BAGUIO CITY– The province of Abra is the only province in the Cordillera classified under a new normal epidemic risk level, Department of Health-Cordillera (DOH-Cordillera) reported during the Joint Cordillera Region Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Regional Task Force COVID-19 meeting on Friday(Feb. 5)
Recording a negative 13 percent two-week growth change in cases and an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of .60, Abra is the only province to be classified under the new normal with Benguet under low risk epidemic level; Apayao, Baguio City, Ifugao, and Mountain Province under moderate risk; and Kalinga under high risk.
“Nasa new normal po sila, ibig sabihin po na yung kanilang mga cases in comparison to the two-week growth change and ADAR ay mababa po kaya hindi sila nakapasok sa low risk, moderate, or high,” DOH-Cordillera Regional Director Ruby Constantino explained.
As of February 4, Abra recorded a total of 182 COVID-19 confirmed cases with only three active cases. 177 patients have recovered while there were two COVID-related deaths.**JDP/JJPM-PIA CAR
