PH Coast guard member, Ifugao’s 2nd Covid-19 case
BAGUIO CITY – A Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) member based in Binondo, Manila is Ifugao’s second coronavirus disease (Covid-19) case, an official of the Lamut town health office said on Tuesday.
Lamut Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Dr. Rhodara Montessa confirmed the second case, who is from Panopdopan, and arrived in his hometown on May 1.
Following the Department of Health protocols, the patient was brought to the Tourism Village for the mandated 14-day quarantine, Montessa said.
She said the patient had cough upon arrival and the swab test on him turned out positive.
The MHO is now contact tracing to know who came in contact with the patient.
Ifugao’s first recorded case was confirmed on April 26, a 65-year old villager from Poblacion East, also in Lamut town. The patient has since then recovered.
Cordillera has 34 recorded Covid-19 cases, 31 of which come from Baguio City, seven from Benguet, three from Abra, and Ifugao’s two.
In Baguio, 28 of the patients have already recovered, with one death while two remain at the hospital– a 61-year-old overseas Filipino worker and a 41-year-old police officer, whose confirmatory tests came in only on Tuesday. (There is only one left now as the 61 year old has also recovered.)
In Benguet, the seventh case was recorded Monday, a 26-year-old female overseas Filipino workers, while Abra’s three patients have since then recovered.
