Robbery
A case of robbery with force upon things committed at about 3:00 Am of May 24, 2019 to June 1, 2019 at 251 Ambuklao Rd., Pacdal, Baguio City owned by Avelino Albaniel Buban, 71, married, born at Albay, businessman wherein his master’s bedroom was robbed by still unidentified suspect/s. The incident was reported at around 11:00 AM of June 1, 2019 by the victim upon arrival from vacation. Accordingly, the victims went on a vacation in Australia leaving their caretaker, Maria Paz Lopena y Sineneng, 34, single, stay-in at the above stated address.
The victims averred that when they came back from vacation, they discovered that their cabinet was opened and his firearm described as Norinco Caliber 45 pistol bearing serial number 705747 with two(2) magazines and bullet worth Php45,000.00; Anne Klein gold plated wrist watch worth Php5,500.00; Tag Heuer, white gold plated wrist watch worth Php87,000.00; Tissot gold plated wristwatch worth Php36,000.00; assorted coins and bills worth Php60,000.00; Apple IPad worth Php30,000.00; and Del Laptop worth Php37,000.00 were missing.
Investigation reveals that the suspect/s gained entry through their neighbor’s vacant lot then climbed the cyclone perimeter fence leading to the master’s bedroom. Suspect/s unscrewed the steel window grill bar and entered the room, they then took the stolen items from an unlocked cabinet. Suspect/s also tried to forcibly open a steel vault box, but failed.
Case is still under investigation.

Mentor abuses female trainee

Vigilance among the public resulted in the successful arrest of a Chess Trainer sexually abusing his ten-year-old female minor student in the afternoon of June 2, 2019, in Baguio City.
Police operatives identified him as Ramsey Laureto Tiwaken, 33, a resident of Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet.
Prior to his arrest, two witnesses reported to the Tourist Police Unit (TPU) of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) that while they were on board a La Trinidad passenger jitney bound for Baguio City, they noticed that the man sitting in front of them was caressing the private part of a minor seated beside him. They took a video of the acts of the said passenger. Later, while they were at Burnham Park, they saw the two and the suspect was doing same lewd acts against the minor which prompted them to take photos then reported the incident to the authorities.
Tiwaken is now facing charges for violation of RA 7610, otherwise known as the Child Abuse Law.

Vehicular accident resulting in physical injuries

At about 9:30 AM of June 3 2019, a vehicular accident transpired along Baguio-Bua-Itogon Road particularly at Upper Tram, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet. Involved vehicle was a PUJ bearing plate number AYE 673 with Baguio City – Keystone and Vice Versa route, driven by Mr. Lamberto Pasi Anacio, 51, married, PUJ driver, and a resident of Antamok Tram, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet.
Investigation disclosed that while the jitney was speeding towards Ucab, Itogon, Benguet, the driver afelt his brakes loose prompting him to steer the vehicle into the mountain slope on his passenger and the vehicle ended up resting on the driver’s side along the concrete pavement. As a result, three passengers and not four as earlier reported were injured and rushed to Notre Dame De Chartres Hospital in Baguio City for medical attention. The injured passengers were identified as: a) Marilyn Asiong Madalang, 54, housewife, and a resident of Upper Tram, Ucab, Itogon, Benguet; b) Jocelyn Pantaleon Parian, 34, teacher at St. Louis High School – Antamok, native and resident of Bokod, Benguet; and c) Roxanne Nabong Nebaten, 36, married, self-employed, and resident of Bua, Itogon, Benguet.
All the victims were discharged from the hospital after being treated. They were not interested in filing charges.**
