The scourge of war

Wars bring out the worst in people in all sides. Yet there will be heroic acts in the most unlikely places. By people who will not allow the ravages of war to destroy their humanity. These will be the real heroes. And there will not be many. Not the intrepid or swashbuckling exploits of officers or special ops people in the military.
Of course the brave and those patriotic will hold us in awe. For however you look at things, the coward and stupid will always be holding the shorter of the stick. In peace or in turbulent times.
Now we are in the throes of a Third World War, or it appears so. All it takes would be a miscalculation by any of the very powerful nations.
If the third world war has already started, then we better be ready. And certainly, those who live by big talks like our politicians will go nowhere. Or they will be the first to run away to hide in the middle of nowhere.
How to prepare in our individual levels? Those who have a low sense of resourcefulness and no skills for survival will have a difficult time. Likewise, those facing some mental or physical challenges. While material resources can mean something, these might be useless when missiles will be blasting everywhere.
Yet there will be those who will be somehow lucky even in the worst of conditions. One can say they have good karma. People who are basically good and won’t allow their humanity to be eroded by circumstances.
So therein lies the best preparation. Along with objective readiness, one should always be guided by universal moral and human considerations.
We dare say, everybody who keeps that in mind will have better chances of surviving and will in the end be doing well. **
