SIX PRO CORDILLERA COPS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR NOTABLE
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Six PRO Cordillera cops who have greatly contributed to the anti-criminality campaign of the Philippine National Police were awarded and recognized during the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony and Distinguished Visitor Program at the Masigasig Grandstand, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on February 5, 2024.
The awarding ceremony was led by the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, together with the Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission-Baguio Extension Office, Atty. Regina May M Cajucom-De Guzman.
The Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit) was awarded to PMAJ LEONARD A DANASEN and PCpl Reynold L Abyado, of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO), for the successful buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of a drug personality listed as a High Value Individual and the confiscation of one sachet of shabu in Brgy Balili, La Trinidad Benguet.
The same award was given to PMAJ HAM B BANAG and PCpl Mourel S Dalutag, of Kalinga PPO, for the successful service of a warrant of arrest against an individual listed as No. 1 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level for the crime of murder at Brgy Nambucayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Further, another Medalya ng Kagalingan was granted to PEMS Eugene Keith B Aquino and PSSg Larry Cris D Taguiling, of Ifugao PPO, for the successful service of a warrant of arrest against an individual listed as No. 2 Most Wanted Person at the Provincial Level for three counts of rape at Brgy Santo Niño, San Jose, Nueva Ecija.
PRO CORDILLERA NETS OVER P3M WORTH ILLEGAL DRUGS IN WEEKLONG DRUG OPS
The Police Regional Office (PRO) Cordillera cops confiscated over P3M worth of illegal drugs and arrested nine drug personalities during the week-long implementation of intensified anti-illegal drugs operations conducted from January 29 to February 4, 2024, in the Cordillera region.
Citing the records from the Regional Operations Division, the marijuana eradication operations conducted in the Provinces of Benguet and Kalinga resulted in the discovery of a total of 4,300 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants and 25,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php3,864,000.00 which were discovered and burned by the operatives.
Meanwhile, the separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted in Baguio City, Benguet, and Kalinga, resulted in the confiscation of a total of 9.08 grams of suspected shabu with a total SDP of Php61,744.00 and the arrest of nine drug personalities: four were apprehended from buy-bust operations, three from a police checkpoint, and one from the implementation of a warrant of arrest.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violation of R.A. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. **
