A former member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily returned to the fold of the law and surrendered a homemade Caliber .30 rifle following successful negotiations led by operatives of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) in Ifugao on November 3, 2025.
According to the report submitted to PRO CAR Regional Director PBGEN ERICSON D DILAG, the surrenderee was listed under the CTG Non-Periodic Status Report on Threat Groups (PSRTG). During his surrender, he turned over one (1) homemade Caliber .30 rifle, a locally fabricated firearm without serial markings, along with ammunition, to the 2nd Ifugao Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) Headquarters in Viewpoint, Banaue.
The successful surrender was the result of a series of negotiations and coordination efforts among the operatives of the 2nd Ifugao PMFC, Banaue Municipal Police Station , Hingyon MPS, and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Ifugao Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 of PRO CAR, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency–Cordillera.
The surrendered firearm is now in the custody of the 2nd Ifugao PMFC for proper documentation, while the former CTG member is undergoing custodial debriefing and assessment for possible assistance under government reintegration programs.
This accomplishment reflects the continued commitment to the seven-focus agenda of the Acting Chief, PNP PLTGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ, JR, to sustain the campaign against terrorism and ensure that both law enforcement and peaceful reintegration efforts are given to former rebels.**RPIO PRO CAR
