Intrigued on how the coming 12 months will be, I resorted to the stars. I Googled some Ephemerides which contain the positions of the starsthe next 9,000 years. I was of course just interested in 2017.
Jupiter, which is the planet of good luck is presently hovering over my 9th house or the house of higher learning. Sorry, I am too old to go for any kind of further studies which is one of the things that house represents. But wait. I bought the other month a basket full of second hand paper backs. I just finished four of them and there is still a high pile of them to be read. Yeah! Perhaps it might mean learning by enjoying pocket books.
Then there are foreign countries or travel. I have no intention to travel abroad and am quite averse to it. What with Saturn inside that house in my astrological chart. Yet it is coming to me in a different way. I had been recently drawn to the travel channels on satellite TV. I was actually exploring Africa, the Middle East, the Arab countries, the famous tourist destinations in Europe, etc., all in the comforts of our couch, mostly in the silence of the wee hours when I already had enough sleep.
As to traveling, it can mean also the means to travel like transportation equipment. These, I guess, are also 9th house matters. Oh I recall that I planned to fix some of my vehicles which had long been waiting for my loving touch. That would be nice. After all, when a guy is fixing a car, it is one of those moments when he enjoys complete freedom from the wife. What does she care about such things?
There is also jurisprudence or Supreme Court decisions which become part of the law of the land. While there is that possibility of me playing a role here, not this time. Though I am about to file a case in the Supreme Court in a week or two, the possibility of it becoming a landmark case is not in the horizon. It is quite an ordinary case.
Next I moved from Jupiter to Saturn—the taskmaster or the planet of discipline. Where it is found at a given time is the area of life where discipline is a must. It is right now in the middle of my 11th house, the area of friends, humanitarian ideology, revolution, etc. Perhaps I am not about to be the guy in shining armor on a white horse out to save a state from a rogue nation.
Saturn is also in trine with all my personal planets like Mercury, Venus, Mars and even my natal Jupiter, all found in the 7th house or the house of relationship. So I will not be also galloping to save a damsel in distress as that can mean temptation. Discipline, man. Discipline.
The order of the day is honest to goodness discipline all around. Otherwise, the taskmaster’s rod will land on my butt in the form of misfortune and difficulties. These will come if I will be taking things lightly especially with respect to duties and obligations.
The good thing about being a senior citizen now is I have already gone through life and the experience prepared me for any eventuality. I will be fine. Some lessons learned, the best of which is that He will never let you down.
I was about to go to my son’s astro chart but I guess there was no need. With his grand trine in the water signs, life would be relatively easier for him. He would be relatively luckier. The challenge for me as a parent is to make him not rely heavily on luck even if he, in many instances, could rely on this.
He has to go through some hardship. Otherwise, he would be unprepared to the bumpy parts of the ride called life when he inevitably has to go through them. For life is not sugar and spice and all things nice.**
