A new week these days seems to always bring in another typhoon. We were only beginning to get used to sunny afternoons in the past few days. The clothes could be hanged outside with no worries of sudden rains. Now, we can all expect to leave the home wet and return later in the same state. The sad fate for our shoes and clothes will be one smelling of foulness while compiled in a corner of the house.
Nevertheless, its already the “ber” months and we will still play the cheery songs of a distant Christmas. From within the busy walls of a mall to the cold insides of our houses, we can expect the same songs to be played. We, after all, dearly love the classics no matter what year it is.
The playbook has changed once again. Last week, I could risk going outside without an umbrella. These coming days will require changes once more. From the clothes we put on and what we bring when we go outside, won’t be the same as the last few days.
We, again, have to keep an eye out on how many clothes are left in our closets and plan out the week in details. Planning ahead will help us all to avoid the hard choice of going commando inside the house.
Like the different societies of the past, we must adapt to nature again if we wish to survive. Winter seasons require other people to plan and prepare, our rainy seasons will do the same to us.
It may be distracting to think ahead of time, we see December and we easily go off the track. Yet, only hard times will come if we rush forward with no plan and we all would like to enter the Christmas season as dry as possible.
Getting to the end of the year is a great accomplishment, it is a time filled with many celebrations and a time to be with loved ones. Before we get to that, we all must still have a clear head and do what needs to be done in these stormy days.
Eyes on the prize, as they like to call it. The goal is to live and get to a new day. We all have things to fix inside and around our homes to better defend against the flood.
We used to put tires on the roof whenever a behemoth of a storm pasess by. It was always a funny sight when tires were that high up. However, it was an effective method and our home is still intact.
Our decisions in the present will decide whether we get completely drenched or not. The carrot or the stick, the actions of today, no matter how small can always yield a greater reward, and help us avoid the repercussions of a bad choice. **
