Quality of the people’s lives determines the future of a province. Governor Jerry Dalipog’s aspiration to improve their conditions goes back to more than six years, when he opted to throw his hat in the gubernatorial race as he completed his three-term tenure as mayor of Banaue town. Since then, Ifugao governor Dalipog easily presented a positive image of what is worth fighting for in the future.
It all began there. What emerged in the May midterm polls was the most revealing proof that the Ifugao electorate has ever seen. Dalipog won by a landslide. Going back in time surely can be a big help.
Talk about shaping the future.
I have a powerful belief that the hard work, discipline and determination of Governor Dalipog can conquer all obstacles in the next three years. I am confident that the executive and legislative branches of the government will seize the opportunities presented in their fields and also optimistic about the province for 2026 and beyond.
The alignment of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) members is something worth looking into and shall serve a strong reminder of the deep interconnection of these branches. By understanding these developments, we can better manage the opportunities and solve problems at the political landscape. How could gridlock be resolved if mechanisms are not created? As a consequence, there is a need to have a Majority Leader and Minority Leader at the SP. Poor communication between the governor and oppositionist board members most often caused a gridlock.
While aspiration for control of the SP are understandably prominent, safeguarding against possible political infighting upheavals is routinely overlooked. So, think of the Executive and Legislative Agenda (ELA) and it is already inevitable in today’s world. Conduct of the ELA is very important, to address the persistent issues hounding Ifugao, such as poverty and joblessness, whether in the seven towns of the first district or the four towns of the second district. Hopefully, that this all-important activity will take place, and perhaps sooner than we think. This move is a step in the right direction.
Known for his visionary leadership, Governor Dalipog is in a position to demand the observance of high standards of ethics and efficiency. In the health front, for instance, it helps that he is top of mind for improving health centers. By doing so, it will encourage folks to visit the health centers and learn about the different programs and services.
Then there is a need to have a more diverse, equitable and inclusive landscape by implementing diversity, equality and inclusion in all people’s processes.
Addressing these requires an integrated approach to people-centered development. Governor Dalipog has demonstrated exemplary leadership in coordinating with the private sector. He had done it in the past. His dedication to public service shall bring hope and stability to the people.
Not surprisingly, Dalipog has found the way to rewrite and redefine history as a third-term governor and earned the distinction as a well-loved official. These developments show that his administration is on the right track to introduce policies that shall shore up the province’s development prospects, and ultimately ensure long-term growth.
Ifugao and Governor Dalipog: Prosperity in 2026 and beyond! Oath-taking is a time to celebrate. Personal thoughts: Best wishes and more success in (the congressional race) in 2028! Some memories (2019) are good, and some others (2022) better, more to come the third-time around!**
