24 Oct. 2025 – The Baguio City Integrated Terminal (BCIT) project of the city government has been officially awarded to Megawide Construction Corporation.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued the Notice of Award dated Oct. 17 to Megawide’s authorized representative Jaime Raphael Feliciano.
The decision came three days after the city’s Public-Private Partnership Pre-Qualification Bids and Awards Committee (PBAC) made a favorable recommendation to award to the company through Resolution No. 1 series of 2025 after receiving no competing proposals during the comparative challenge phase of the process.
The project has an estimated cost of P1,186,000,000.
In the NOA, the company was asked to submit documentary requirements and comply with the conditions for the award within 20 calendar days from receipt of the NOA.
“Within five (5) calendar days from the submission of proof of compliance with all the requirements, the City Government of Baguio will advise the Proponent whether or not its submissions are satisfactory. Within five (5) calendar days from the receipt of the advice of the City Government of Baguio that all conditions have been fulfilled, the Proponent must enter into Contract with the City Government of Baguio, unless another mutually convenient date has been set by the Parties,” the NOA read.
“Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will result in the revocation of the award, and the forfeiture of the Bid Security.”
The BCIT project is one of the city’s big ticket projects under the PPP program.
It aims to develop an integrated terminal in Dontogan barangay along Marcos Highway that will cater to provincial buses coming from outside Baguio to serve as passenger transfer terminals to different modes of transportation going into the city.
It was envisioned to help decentralize vehicular traffic in the congested central business district. ** Aileen P. Refuerzo
