BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) formally recognized the “MADASILAK” Class of 2029 during the recognition rites at the Borromeo Field, Fort del Pilar in Baguio City on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
A total of 333 cadets form the MADASILAK Class of 2029, which stands for “Mandirigmang Dakila’t Sagisag ng Integridad at Lakas ang Kinabukasan.”
The recognition rites mark the moment when the 4th class cadets, after enduring the toughest phase of cadet life, are finally accepted as full members of the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The cadets received the warm handshake of their upper class, a gesture symbolizing the respect they’ve earned as well as resilience and personal transformation.
Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr., in his address, emphasized that the cadets must uphold their core values.
“The dignity with which you conduct yourselves today will echo into every unit you will lead tomorrow,” Brawner said.
The AFP chief also reminded the cadets that as future leaders of the AFP, they must always seek the truth and rise above the noise.
“Do not allow yourselves to be misled by shallow commentary or provoked by divisive rhetoric. Think critically, speak with restraint, act with prudence, and above all, seek the truth—not the convenient one but the real one,” he said. **DEG-PIA CAR
