La Trinidad, Benguet — The spirit of unity and Christmas cheer shone brightly on the evening of November 25, 2025, as the Municipality of La Trinidad officially launched its Community Christmas Lighting Activity under the theme “One Community, One Spirit.” At exactly 6:00 PM, more than 200 establishments, companies, and cooperatives across the municipality simultaneously lit up their Christmas decorations—transforming the valley into a dazzling display of lights, hope, and community spirit.
For a town long recognized as the Cooperative Capital of the Cordillera, the event became more than a ceremonial switch-on; it was a heartfelt celebration of solidarity and shared identity. The simultaneous lighting symbolized how each household, business, and organization serves as a beacon of light—contributing to La Trinidad’s enduring strength and resilience.
A Celebration Rooted in Solidarity
Across barangays, from Km 3 to Km 6, from Balili to Pico to Puguis until Wangal, Buyagan, Cruz, Camp Dangwa, and around the valley, the glow of Christmas lights filled the municipality with warmth. Establishments participated with creativity and enthusiasm—hanging lanterns, decorating facades, installing symbolic community displays, and illuminating their offices with festive colors.
This year’s lighting activity underscores the municipality’s commitment to fostering unity, especially as communities continue to rebuild, reconnect, and support one another through the challenges of the times.
Municipal officials expressed gratitude for the overwhelming participation, noting that the gathering of more than 200 establishments is a testament to La Trinidad’s deeply rooted bayanihan culture. The event reaffirmed the community’s shared belief that when people unite in purpose and spirit, brighter possibilities emerge.
Cooperatives and Local Enterprises at the Heart of the Celebration
Local cooperatives—long-time pillars of socio-economic development in La Trinidad—were among the most active participants. Many decorated their buildings, showcased lanterns crafted by their members, and joined the lighting ceremony to demonstrate their commitment to service, solidarity, and community empowerment.
Private companies, small enterprises, and government offices also played a major role, proving that the Christmas spirit thrives strongest when the whole community participates.
The collaborative effort highlighted La Trinidad’s distinct character: a municipality strengthened by diversity but united by shared values.
A Night of Light, Hope, and Community Spirit
As lights flickered on across the municipality, families, workers, and community members gathered outside their establishments, appreciating the glowing sights and exchanging warm greetings. For many, the lighting activity served as a reminder of the importance of connection, compassion, and collective joy.
The event also set the tone for the rest of La Trinidad’s holiday celebrations, which will include community-led programs, cooperative activities, and various outreach initiatives aimed at bringing cheer to households across the valley.
Moving Forward with One Vision
The success of the Community Christmas Lighting Activity reflects La Trinidad’s enduring unity. As the town continues its journey toward development, its people remain bound by a shared purpose—to uplift one another and to keep the spirit of community alive.
This year’s theme, “One Community, One Spirit,” is not merely a slogan—it is a promise: that La Trinidad will continue to shine as one, grow as one, and celebrate as one.
With more than 200 establishments lighting the way, the Christmas season in La Trinidad is not only brighter—it is more meaningful, more hopeful, and more united than ever.
MAY WE HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
