With many harvestable crops still in the open field, the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera, local government units, private sectors and the farmers’ groups continue to collaborate and help each other to mobilize resources and facilitate the movement of agriculture produce from the farms to the market areas.
On April 15, 2026, a total of 5,000 kilos (5 MT) of various highland vegetables from Bauko, Mountain Province and Mankayan, Benguet were hauled for transport to Quezon City through the Episcopal Community for Renewal and Empowerment (ECARE) Foundation.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bauko, Mountain Province and the Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations in Mankayan took charge of hauling the vegetables. Meanwhile, the Kadiwa truck of LGU Tinoc, Ifugao was used for the delivery through the coordination of DA-CAR’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD). The agency also shouldered the fuel requirement.
The DA-CAR is grateful to the LGU partners and private stakeholders for the collaborative efforts and assistance amid the oil crisis. The Kadiwa activities and hauling of vegetables assistance continue.
