As the nation continues to import vegetables, our very own pechays, carrots, cabbages are being thrown out due to oversupply. Tons and tons of these vegetables are thrown out as so many families starve in many areas of the country.
Just as our government looks for supplies outside, they remain ignorant of the already existing resources they have. Just how many families the already spoiled vegetables could have fed. How much of these farmers’ efforts could have been saved and not resulted in their produce being thrown away just like that.
It is time our government turn their eyes towards the plight of our farmers. Instead of the tears in the senate, the farmers’ sweat are much more valuable in putting our attention to.
