Extraordinary commitment and service to the people is the best description of the performance of Barangay Poblacion North council officials. In the post-fiesta period, they have an intricate relationship with the people.
A summer vacation is incomplete without attending a fiesta. Council officials, led by punong barangay Ericson Inhumang made sure that the just-concluded fiesta was fun-filled and memorable with a multi-part program showcasing the village’s achievements and honoring individuals and nongovernment organizations at Lumingay open gymnasium.
Of particular interest was the conduct of the barangay fiesta. Folks- young and old alike actively involved themselves at activities related to it. A parade highlighted the program. Board member Dulnuan Habbiling was the guest speaker.
Another highlight for the attendees was the cultural presentation.
By bringing together sectoral leaders, connectivity and strong private sector support the gathering helps simply what has traditionally been a joyful and learning process.
A good way to acknowledge the diversity of food at festivities as this one without the extra carbs (and, of course, at affordable budget) is to revisit what the officials served at lunch: pork adobo, pancit (veggie goodness gives healthy bites and make, one to crave for more) and rice. Always think of inexpensive dishes where the food is superb. It’s hard to ignore the snacks served. The resulting flavorful selection was delightful surprise.
Through the fiesta, friendly ties are strengthened and better understanding of NGOs (such as the Lumingay Womens Organization) are promoted as their respective advocacies in the various fields are aired.
There has also been a growing interest in boosting the barangay’s economy through the fiesta.
There are incredible blessings for well-performing officials in the grassroots level.
Even during the preparations for the gym’s stage for the program, barangay officials and personnel felt tired, always doing it smiling and engaging. They’re getting inspirations from each other. That’s certainly the fun part.
Humans often choose to dedicate large portion of their lives to seemingly difficult causes. For instance, there’s Ermilinda Baguilat, the indigenous people’s mandatory representative (IPMR). She is really doing her best to help the IP sector.
Other officials have also continued to support the barangay’s development projects. They are kagawads (councilmen) Loydan Bulayungan, Peter Calingayan, Warren Dumangeng, Rolly Eheng, Emelda Hampuy, Divina Amor Kinakin and Irene Nabunalen. SK chair is Lance Siegfried Inhumang. Deejay Cacayuran is barangay treasurer. Barangay secretary is Betty Bantule.
There is a pressing need to reach more unserved remote villages of Ifugao, for example in Caba, Dulao, Jucbong and Tupaya- all in Lagawe.
Effort is required to help poor Ifugao folks understand and appreciate the significance of sports in their lives. Hence, the dissemination and information is essential, otherwise the purpose of prioritizing these programs and overseeing them of provincial sports coordinator Manny Bitog will be described as meaningless.
Of course, more is involved in enhancing the people’s awareness in the role of sports for physical, emotional and mental well-being.
So I’m encouraging folks to move and to pursue strong interest in sports. The programs and initiatives of Governor Dalipog have been incremental to many Ifugao folks specifically how it is able to address their new changing needs and responsibilities.
Keep the ball rolling and high. Going sepak takraw, and beyond. Apart from it, are these others coming up? Probably. All in the name of retiring healthy folks.I’m a firm believer in better public awareness and education as the more effective weapon to empower them.
There is an immense amount of pressure to complete the sports agenda before Governor Dalipog moves to a higher position in 2028
