PRO CAR seizes over P2.3M illegal drugs, arrests 6 in weeklong drug ops
The sustained anti-illegal drug campaign of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) yielded significant results, with over PhP2.3M worth of illegal drugs seized and six drug personalities arrested during a weeklong series of operations from August 31 to September 6, 2026.
During the weeklong campaign, PRO CAR conducted 10 anti-illegal drug operations, consisting of four marijuana eradication operations, two buy-bust operations, and one each involving the implementation of a search warrant, service of a warrant of arrest, police response, and checkpoint operation.
These operations resulted in confiscation of 11,350 fully grown marijuana plants, 280 marijuana seedlings, and 13.17 grams of suspected shabu, with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP2,370,756.00
Six drug personalities were arrested and are facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Of those arrested, two were identified as High-Value Individuals (HVIs), while four were classified as Street-Level Individuals (SLIs).
The Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) recorded the highest accomplishment, eradicating marijuana plants valued at PhP2,000,000.00, followed by the Benguet PPO, which eradicated marijuana plants worth PhP281,200.00.
Meanwhile, the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) confiscated suspected shabu valued at PhP81,532.00 and arrested two HVIs and two SLIs. The Abra PPO, on the other hand, seized suspected shabu with an SDP of PhP8,024.00 and apprehended two SLIs.
PRO CAR continues to intensify its anti-illegal drug campaign through sustained law enforcement operations, close coordination with partner government agencies, and active community participation. Through these collective efforts, PRO CAR remains steadfast in protecting communities and promoting a safer and drug-free Cordillera region.
29 wanted personalities arrested in PRO CAR’S weeklong manhunt ops; 61 municipalities record zero crime
A weeklong anti-criminality operation across the region yielded significant results as the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) apprehended 29 wanted persons, while 61 municipalities recorded zero crime incidents from August 30 to September 5, 2026.
The Baguio City Police Office (CPO) recorded the highest number of arrests, with 14 wanted persons apprehended, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with seven arrests; Abra PPO with three; Ifugao PPO with two; and the Apayao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province PPOs with one arrest each.
Of the 29 wanted persons arrested, four were identified as Most Wanted Persons (MWPs), with two listed at the Regional Level and two at the Municipal Level.
Meanwhile, intensified police visibility and strong community cooperation contributed to a peaceful week across the region, with 61 municipalities reporting zero crime incidents. Specifically, 24 municipalities in Abra; 10 each in Benguet and Mountain Province; seven in Ifugao; and five each in Apayao and Kalinga reported zero crime incidents. In addition, Police Station (PS) 5 and PS 6 of the Baguio CPO also recorded zero crime incidents.
During the same period, PRO CAR recorded a Crime Clearance Efficiency (CCE) of 84.44% and a Crime Solution Efficiency (CSE) of 80.00%, reflecting its sustained efforts to address reported crimes and bring cases toward resolution.
