Rape
At around 2:15 AM of February 19, 2018, Alfonso Lista MPS received a report thru phone call from Brgy Captain Fernando Dubadob of Ngileb, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao that a case of rape transpired at said Barangay. Personnel of Alfonso MPS proceeded immediately to the said Barangay and arrested Manuel Rozon Lubos, 33 years old, married, farmer, Roman Catholic by faith and resident of same place for raping a woman, 39 years old, Roman Catholic by faith, Elementary undergraduate, housekeeper, married and a resident of same place
Investigation disclosed that at around 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM of February 18, 2018, while the victim was in deep slumber inside their house, she was wakened when she felt that somebody was on top of her and his penis was already inside her. She pushed and freed herself from the suspect and immediately switched on the light, and saw the suspect fleeing. Prior to the incident, early morning of February 18, 2018 the suspect called the victim to wash their one sack of clothes which she finished at around 5:00 PM so she was tired. When she went home, she rested immediately. Then the crime happened. Case is being prepared for inquest proceedings.
Alleged Suicide
An alleged suicide thru hanging transpired at around 3:30 PM of February 18, 2018 at the 3rd floor of No. 173 East Quirino Hill, Baguio City and reported to PS 2, BCPO at around 4:00 PM of same date by Tactical Operation Center (TOC) of BCPO. Victim was identified as John Luis Dumasan Marrero, 25 years old, single, born on November 1, 1992 in Baguio City, unemployed and a resident of said address..
Based on the interview from the father of the victim identified as Teofilo Marrero that they were inside the 2nd floor of their house when his wife Marcela decided to check on their son, John Luis, inside his room and was shocked to see him hanging with a blanket around his neck tied on a wood in the ceiling.
The father of the victim refused SOCO assistance and he signed a waiver that the body will no longer undergo post mortem and autopsy examination.
Six individuals nabbed for drugs and firearms
Over the weekend, four drug suspects (one is a minor) and two firearm couriers were separately arrested in the provinces of Kalinga and Benguet.
The drug pushers were identified as Abdul Gafar F. Batuaan, Jonas D. Ang, Andre Gonzalo T Lazada, all single and aged 18, and another minor whose identity was withheld, all students and residents of Santiago City, Isabela and were arrested in a checkpoint and found in possession of illegal drugs night of February 17, 2018 at Brgy Bangad, Tinglayan, Kalinga by combined personnel of Tinglayan MPS, KPMFC, RIU 14, and PDEA.
Prior to their arrest, suspects were on-board two motorcycles coming from Brgy. Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga heading towards Santiago City, Isabela when they were flagged down in a checkpoint. As a result, 6500 grams dried Marijuana leaves with an estimated DDB value of more or less Php812, 500 was confiscated from their possession.
On the other hand, two suspects were separately arrested on the same day for illegal possession of firearms after a concerned citizen reported them to the police.
The suspects were identified as Peter Dangiwan Chinalpan, 48, a resident of Upper, Pinget, Baguio City and a construction worker who was arrested after he indiscriminately fired his firearm and was caught in possession of assorted firearms placed in a bag at Nazarene Pico, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet in the afternoon of said date.
Responding police personnel of La Trinidad MPS and members of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) were able to confiscate two (2) Colt cal.45, One (1) Shooters Commodore cal.45; One (1) ARMSCOR cal.45; One (1) Taurus cal.357 magnum; four (4) magazines; and 45 ammunition. The suspect had no permit to carry and possess the firearms.
Likewise, a farmer identified as Johnson Sawac Tindo, 25, and a resident of Lam-ayan Bangao, Buguias Benguet was arrested after he was reported by a concerned citizen to be in possession of a firearm inside the Gold Videoke Bar in Abatan, Buguias, Benguet on the night of the same day. Responding personnel of Buguias MPS were able to confiscate one (1) a caliber .45 Pistol Caspian Arms Hardwick Vt USA from him.
The appropriate cases were filed in court.
