The Department of Tourism (DOT), Cordillera Chef organization, and the City of Baguio in partnership with SM City Baguio has launched the Mangan Taku: Cordillera Chefs Fair at the mall atrium, Lower Ground Level, SM City Baguio on April 28, 2021.
The event is open for visitors from April 28 to May 2, 2021.
As part of the national festivity of the Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino or the Filipino Food Month, the Mangan Taku 2021 initiated by Department of Tourism is celebrated in order to highlight and emphasize the best practices of meal preparation, sustainable food production, and to showcase the importance of cuisine in tourism experience that promotes understanding of history, culture, and its people.
The Mangan Taku: Cordillera Chefs Fair at SM City Baguio is to recognize the skills and artistry of home-grown chefs in the region, as well to provide a chance for visitors and guests to further explore the local cuisine. There are booths and exhibits for everyone to discover and enjoy the taste of Cordilleran food through take-out meals in order to limit of dining within the area.
This event will also give an opportunity for chefs, restaurants, and other workers in the food business that have felt the adverse effects from the pandemic to gain a wider audience, and will assist them in generating more income.
Guests will be delighted to see food items from the restaurants that offer variations such as drinks, pastries, ready to eat meals, and so much more.
Nest Coffee Rosters with Mr. Bilig Sorimachi Banasan will be serving up their delicious choices of drinks and food items such as Benguet Coffee, Steamed pork with Tapuy, Brown Rice, Pinuneg (blood sausage), and Local strawberry/ blueberry bars.
Bag-C Vacation House/ Cocina Den Food Service by Le Cusina Den with Chef Delfin Fernando Abad have prepared their delectable meals and desert such as their Cordilleran Style Chicken Ramen, Focaccia Bread, and Cordilleran themed black forest cake.
Catch these wonderful food products: Kiniing Inapoy Binungen / Tamales, Kiniing & Chicken Liver Pate, Pinuneg Sliders, and Highland Choco-Arabica Espresso Cookies from Green Pepper Dos led by Chef Charlynne M. Buangan.
The Tam Tam Café with Chef Harry D. Osboken will be preparing their tasty drinks and meals like their Tapey, Diket, Nilapet Patupat, Kiniing Rice Meals/ Baked Rabbit, Pinikpikan Rice Meals, Brewed Coffee, and packed coffee beans.
Bistro Lokal with Chef Miko Dy serve their best-sellers: Ube Pandesal, Raisin Bread, Sour dough, Multigrain, Croissant, and Pastillas bread.
