“Ligtas Paskuhan 2023: ” PRO Cordillera deploys 1,999
cops for the holiday season”
With few days remaining before Christmas Day, the Police Regional Office Cordillera deploys more than a thousand cops to ensure the safety and security of the public in observance of the major holiday celebrations and activities from December 16 to January 6, 2023.
Based on the data from the Regional Operations Division (ROD), a total of 1,999 PRO Cordillera police officers are deployed in the different provinces and cities in the Cordillera region.
To ensure the safety and security of major thoroughfares, 887 PRO Cordillera cops are deployed for road monitoring including those who are manning the different terminals in the region.
For places of convergence and commercial areas, 1,082 personnel are pre-positioned to secure public markets, parks, malls, and places of worship.
Further, in addition to the deployed PRO Cordillera personnel, a total of 545 Augmented Units and Force multipliers are also mobilized as part of security and crime prevention measures during the celebration of the long holiday.
The PRO Cordillera encourages the public to always stay alert and be vigilant to avoid any untoward incidents and accidents from happening while enjoying various activities prepared for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Pailaw Project and Oplan Bumadang of Benguet PPO
In Benguet, 12 families will now have electricity in their homes as the Kabalyero cops of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) successfully turned over sets of house solar panels during the Turn-over Ceremony held at Sitio Otbong, Brgy Anchukey, Kabayan on December 19, 2023.
Highlight of the ceremony was the ceremonial ribbon cutting and switching on of the Pailaw to signify the official turn-over of the solar panels to the beneficiaries.
The project was funded by the Head Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in Laoag City, Consul Ren Faquiang, wherein 12 house solar panels were donated to 12 families in Brgy Anchukey and Brgy Eddet.
This activity is part of the Pailaw Project and Oplan Bumadang of Benguet PPO under the leadership of the Provincial Director, PCOL DAMIAN OLSIM, in partnership with the Benguet PPO Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD), led by the Chairman and Governor of Benguet, Hon. Melchor D. Diclas, and other stakeholders, aiming to provide basic services and uplift the lives of the people in the community, especially those who are living in the far-flung areas in the province of Benguet.
