Team Mountain Province earned various Special Awards in the just concluded “OCD Cordillera RescueLympics” on August 13, 2025, at the Wangal Sports Complex in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Among these are the Overall Fastest Time Responder, Fastest Time for Vehicular Crash Rescue, Fastest Time for the Fire Extinguisher Management and Rescue, and Fastest Time Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue. Also, the team landed 6th runner up or 7th place in the said competition.
The team from Mountain Province consisted of members from the Bontoc Emergency Response Team, the Samoki Mountain Search and Rescue Team, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) , and the Red Cross-Mountain Province. They are Clifford Chinalpan (Team Leader), Perfecto Angel Agwaking, Francisco Padsing, Jr., Andrew Fomeg-as, Jan Ray Gawidan, Edmund Cabacab, Jr., Mcwes Sherwin Peckley, Pulmaysen Awichen, Felix Aldrin Baluis, Anton Zaren Nasungan, Denis Kongoy, Eric Fulangen, Jr., Leon Chad Angitag, Leophin Gayec, and Kevin Myles Ekid.
The team were accompanied by LDRRMO V Neil Culallad and LDRRMO III Jonas Chumacog from the Provincial Government of Mountain Province’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The event is part of the third and last day of the Cordillera Disaster Summit and Expo, which started on August 11, 2025.
