Giving much attention to the educational needs of all learners across the country is one of the mandates of the Department of Education (DepEd). This coincides with the caring attitude and warm welcome sentiments of Filipinos, regardless of gender, background, and ethnicity of learners. The Loacan National High School in Itogon District follows this culture that the DepEd inculcates to every school leader and educator. Learners are more likely to come to school when they feel safe, know that someone at the school cares about them, and when there are exciting and relevant lessons.
The school community of Loacan National High School offers a warm and welcoming environment on its full implementation of face to face classes this November 2022, in tune with the Indigenous People (IP) celebration in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). Remembering the rich, vast, and profound values of Cordillerans, learners will be reminded of one that was fought for by their forefathers– EDUCATION FOR ALL.
On this day, the school leadership and teachers prepared pertinent and profound lessons across the curriculum in-line with IP rights, culture, traditions, and customs – with real life meaning and experiences. Learners will be reminded to appreciate, respect, and embrace different IPs characteristics. In this manner, learners will gradually develop empathy, kindness, friendships, growth, development, and tolerance with each other, without deviating against the lessons in the curriculum, standards, and principles set forth by DepEd.
Thus, equality, camaraderie, and trust will be built in the school and in Loacan Barangay as well. Hopefully, these will be promoted and carried through the next generations of learners. EVERYONE in the school community will be reminded and feel that a warm welcome also warms the heart.**
