BONTOC, Mountain Province – This year’s edition of the Lang-ay Festival is being anticipated by the public!
The provincial festival will start on a Kapihan at the Capitol grounds.
On March 29, the pre-pageant of the Search for Mr. and Miss Mountain Province will be held at the Gov. Leonard Mayaen Sports Complex.
On March 31, 2025, a thanksgiving mass will occur before the opening of the Agro-Industrial Trade Fair. This will be the Lang ay Prelude.
TESDA TVET will provide a skills showcase and a theatrical presentation by the UP Dulaang Laboratoryo.
Veterinary mission will be conducted on April 1 at the Eyeb Open Gym.
Then on April 2, the coronation night of the Search for Mr. and Miss Mountain Province will occur. But during the day, the annual meeting of the Mountain Province Farmers and Irrigators Association (MoFIA) will be conducted at the National Irrigation Administration Satellite office at Caluttit, Bontoc.
Inter-agency service caravan and farmers agri-talk with the provincial coffee quality competition will highlight the days on April 2-3.
The much awaited Lang-ay On the Street will happen at 2:00 PM of April 3 on the main thoroughfare of the town. This is being spearheaded by the Office of the Congressman. As in the past indigenous fruit wine and food will be available for everyone. Watwat might also be served to cap the day.
The next day, April 4, will see a day for Marching Bands along the main thoroughfare, PRC Outreach Service, in memoriam wreath laying and candle lighting to honor the past governors, governor’s night, and the Lang-ay Marcs Songs Concert.
April 5 is the main day as the ten municipalities perform in the Street Dancing and Cultural Showdown in the morning. Indigenous games in the afternoon and fireworks display will cap the night.
The groundbreaking of the provincial tourism, culture and the arts, and museum building is also scheduled in the morning. The main program will also be done at the Eyeb grounds.
Lang-ay Trail Walk for a Cause during the day along with Exhibitors’ Night for those participants in the trade fair.
The commemoration of the 58th Foundation Day of the province will be held on April 7 with civ-military parade and the provincial prayer gathering taking place separately.
Medical/Surgical Caravans will be conducted April 3-17 at the Bontoc General Hospital, Besao District Hospital, and Paracelis District Hopital.
