Twenty entrepreneurs from the Cordillera Administrative Region who successfully completed the required training modules of the Kapatid, Mentor-Me Program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-CAR) received their certificates during a graduation ceremony held in Baguio City.
The Kapatid Mentor Me graduates are Calixta Urmaza of HBK Food House, Maria Monica of Zane Nutridelight Homemade Ice Cream Samoranos, Ariel B. Banawe Community Clinical, Services Assn., Jun Kindipan Dumar of Baguio-Benguet Woodworks Assn., Carmen Acop of Scofita, Leticia Bacolong of The Conquerors Association, Albina Otinguey of Bina Weaving, Isias C. Asuigi of Igorota Wine Manufacturing, Lito Mallagay of Wandy Arts & Crafts and Glenda Escosio of HTIAFWORX General Merchandise.
The other ten graduates are: Humbeline Tuabas of Humzara’s Bakeshop, Nelson Dacawe of Ebob-le Enterprises, Judy Kimayong of D’dreamers Assn., Editha Bawingan of VFSA Food Products, Gyle T. Dominguez of Chokkos Bakeshop Gourmet Products, Lucia Kinadoy of Jekly Handicrafts, Patricia Medez of Organization of Women – Bakakeng Norte, Mary Ananayo of Jet-jed Handicrafts, Henedina Lota A. Bacani of JUST Project and Sonia Macasaquit of Barista Corner. Said Kapatid Mentor Me program is an initiative of the DTI and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) to help the country’s micro and small enterprises (MSEs) through three key components:
The Mentor ME component offers a coaching and mentoring approach where experts from leading corporations teach MSMEs on different aspects of business operations. Various speakers from the business community and academe of Baguio City and the Cordillera served as the mentors where they had a series of personalized discussions on doing business. During the graduation rites, DTI-Baguio/Benguet Provincial Director together with Mayor Mauricio Domogan’s Executive Secretary Rafael Tallocoy conferred the certificates signed by DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez and Jose Ma.
