The Regional Development Council – CAR represented by Co-chairperson Edna Tabanda awarded the plaques of recognition to the Most Outstanding Volunteers in CAR. Ms. Tabanda was joined by NEDA-CAR Regional Director Susan Sumbeling, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, and Private Sector Representatives of the RDC Mr. Arnel Cabanisas and Mr. Rafael Gayaso.
The regional Most Outstanding Volunteer awardees are: Ms. Carmen T. Malabong- Individual Youth Category; Mr. Paul Joseph A. Nuval –Individual Adult Category; Project360 Organization Inc. – Non-Profit Organization Category; and Breast Feeding Care Center of the North (BCCN) – Corporation Category.
The Search for Outstanding Volunteers is conducted annually by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) in partnership with NEDA Regional Offices. The Search aims to recognize outstanding Filipino volunteers and volunteer organizations for their exemplary performance and achievements in empowering communities and promoting volunteerism as a way of life, contributory to nation-building.
NEDA-CAR received a total of 19 nominations for the 2022 SOV. These nominees were validated by the SOV Regional Steering Committee headed by NEDA-CAR Regional Director Susan Sumbeling and representatives from CSC-CAR, DSWD-CAR, PIA-CAR, and one from among the RDC-CAR PSRs.**By Gerald D. Segundo
