BAGUIO CITY, May 18 (PIA) – – The Regional Vaccination Operation Center reported that 20,423 out of the 38,117 eligible population in Cordillera Region who were vaccinated with Sinovac COVID – 19 vaccine already completed the required two–doses of vaccination.
As of May 16 data of the Cordillera RVOC, of the 20,423 that were already vaccinated with two doses of the Sinovac vaccine 17,912 are from Priority A1 or frontline health workers; 97 are from Priority A2 or senior citizens, and 2,414 are from Priority A3 or adults with co – morbidities.
The RVOC assured that the second dose for the 38,117 vaccinated with Sinovac are already allocated to the different provincial/city health offices.
Meantime, the Cordillera RVOC recently received 36,000 doses AstraZeneca vaccines that will be used for the second dose of the 10,313 eligible individuals who received AstraZeneca for their first dose and the remaining unvaccinated members of the Priority A1, A2 and A3 masterlist.
The new batch of Astrazeneca vaccine were already allocated and deployed to the different provincial/city health services offices and some local vaccination teams already started their vaccination activities. There are now 4,274 vaccinated, as of May 16.
Dr. Ruby Constantino , RVOC Chairperson and Department of Health -CAR regional director reminded local vaccination implementation teams to complete the first dose vaccination of the AstraZeneca vaccines within six days, while for the second dose of those previously vaccinated with AstraZeneca, they must follow the 10 – 12 week (first and second dose) interval to ensure maximum efficacy.
Constantino also reiterated that the new batch of AstraZeneca must be for those under the priority A1, A2 and A3 groups only, as per agreement with the WHO COVAX Facility that donated the vaccines. **JDP/CCD-PIA CAR
