
In a proactive effort to ensure safety and security as the election period officially begins, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, PRO-CAR Regional Director, conducted a thorough inspection of the established PNP checkpoints along key areas in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet on January 12, 2025.
PBGEN PEREDO, JR visited the checkpoints strategically located along the Supreme Hotel, Brgy. Camp 7, and Marcos Highway, in Baguio City, as well as in front of the Bell Church in KM.3, La Trinidad, Benguet, to ensure operational readiness, proper implementation of security protocols, and vigilance of police officers in maintaining public safety and peace and order.
Further, the Regional Director also took part in the checkpoint operations, reminding the passing motorists of the Election Gun Ban, which will be enforced from January 12 to June 11, 2025.
The Election Gun Ban is in accordance with Comelec Resolution No. 11067, which prohibits the public from bearing, carrying, or transporting firearms and other deadly weapons in public areas. This restriction applies to all public spaces, including buildings, streets, parks, private vehicles, and public transportation.
