The UP Baguio community stands firm against corruption!
We commend the overwhelming majority of UPB students who courageously walked out in protest. Around 1,800 students joined the walkout, showing the discontent of the students to the prevailing system of corruption.
While politicians continue to plunder our taxes, the education sector suffers from relentless budget cuts and deficits. The UP system is set to have a 21 billion peso budget deficit in its 2026 proposed budget. Meanwhile, Cordillera SUCs face a 1.3 billion peso budget cut. Enough is enough!
Baguio and Benguet students, rise up! On September 20 (1:30 PM), Louisians will also conduct a local protest action. On September 21 (9:00 AM), various sectors and groups will march as one against corruption. The people are angry. We are moving. Let’s build a culture of militant protest and collective resistance!**Gabriel Siscar, Spokesperson, Kabataan Partylist Cordillera
