The city public library revealed the winning logo to officially represent it following the recently concluded BCPL Logo Contest as part of the 63rd Public Library Day celebration on March 9, 2022 with the theme Pampublikong Aklatan, Katuwang ng Pamayanan: Pagbangon sa Pandemya, Pagpapayabong ng Kultura, at Pagpapalaganap ng Karunungan.
Designed by first place winner Sheryl M. Benito, the logo captures the essence, roles, and the significance of the public library which she entitled and described as the BCPL Tree of Knowledge. Core elements found are the two hands intertwined forming the trunk and branches of the tree representing the library and the community working hand in hand; the laptop and open book symbolizing a balance of modernized and traditional library set up linking the past, present and future that creates opportunities for learning to fuel economic, social, and cultural development; and the faceless reader under the tree showing that the library not only provides information and knowledge but also a safe place for all without biases. Set in a two-tone palette, dark blue was used for knowledge, reliability and advancement. Red was chosen to represent the Cordillera region and the values of passion, sense of responsibility, and power that also reflect the influence of the library to the society. The library tagline Sa BCPL, Lahat Kasali is also incorporated in the design.
Benito outbested more than three hundred other participants. Close contenders were Jaimee B. Victoria and Jhon Rey B. Belardo who landed second and third place respectively. Consolation places were received by Nikkole Issah B. Sabado, Gerald E. Moraña, Levi Glen O. Ingente, Ephraim B. Gabino, Singkay C. Diya Jr., Mary Rosaline D. Ngoap, Samem P. Monib, CJ T. Mapangdol, Genesis Hope L. Bucasan, Beejay S. Soliven, Lexin Aira Mae P. Blas, and Kathleen Dela Peña.
