LAGAWE, Ifugao, Dec. 7 — Seven hundred and seventy five beneficiaries of the Risk Resiliency Program through the Cash-For-Work for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation-Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM-DRR) project of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) here received their wages last week.
The RRP-CCAM-DRR program is intended for those households affected by calamities and disasters in order that they can earn income to augment the financial means of their families. The scheme involves one from each of the households employed for 10 days.
Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) head Susan Gallangi said 775 households composed the first batch of beneficiaries who availed of this program for 2018. They labored for 10 days at the rate of P225/day doing chores such as clearing road obstructions, dredging canals or irrigations and other tasks necessary or needed in their respective communities.
The amount of P1,658,256.00 was released by the DSWD to cover the payment of the cash payout for the beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries came from 17 barangays of Lagawe with barangay Abinuan having the most at 100, followed by Barangays Dulao and Tupaya with 70 each, Buyabuyan-60, Poblacion East and Ponghal with 50 each; Olilicon, 46; Tungngod and Caba with 40 each; Montabiong and Poblacion South with 35 each; Burnay, 33; Jucbong, 29; Boliwong, 22; Pullaan, 20; Poblacion West, 15, and Luta with 10.
Gallangi also informed that 963 beneficiaries were already identified for the same program in 2019 coming from 17 barangays. The amount of P2,166,750.00 has been earmarked for the project. **JDP/DBC- PIA CAR, Ifugao
