CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA)– For good performance in the implementation of the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) projects, Kalinga is given the highest in allocation for 2019 among Cordillera provinces.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has allocated P120 million as prize for the province’s absorptive capacity in implementing multi-million CMGP projects through the efficient workmanship of the local road management team.
Engr. Rene Valera of DILG Central Office said Kalinga has realized expectations after achieving the 50% points criteria for allocation. He congratulated the officialdom of the province for making it as one of the good performing LGUs nationwide.
Kalinga, in the latest DILG survey, is among the top 20 most improved LGUs at the provincial level with Rizal in the municipal level.
Kalinga province was awarded four times with the Seal of Good Governance which has 50% equivalent in the criteria of allocating CMGP projects. For sustaining the award, it entitled the province with incentive projects.
Provincial DILG OIC Director Max Mayer Adong said the province has to identify and submit proposals on how to spend the fund based on the Provincial Governance Reform Roadmap.
Two CMGP concreting road projects were recently turned over to beneficiaries -the 8.25 kilometer completed upgrading and improvement of the Cabaruan-Sucbot provincial road with a project cost of P99.5 million and the 6.80km Cabaritan-Dugpa road costing P73.9M.
The P95M concreting of a four kilometer portion of the Dalnacan-Mangali provincial road is on-going along with the P240M Bado-Dangwa-Nambucayan PRDP road project.
