PRO CAR’s Weeklong Manhunt Ops Lead to 24 Arrests; 60 Municipalities Maintain Zero Crime Rate
The weeklong anti-criminality operations carried out by various units of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) resulted in the apprehension of 24 wanted individuals, while 60 municipalities reported no crime incidents from March 23 to 29, 2025.
According to the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of PRO CAR, during the weeklong manhunt operations, Baguio City Police Office (CPO) led with eight arrests, followed by Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with seven, Kalinga PPO with five, Apayao PPO with two, and Abra and Ifugao PPOs with one arrest each.
Among those apprehended, two were identified as Most Wanted Persons (MWP), one at the Provincial Level and another at the Municipal Level.
Meanwhile, highlighting PRO CAR’s commitment to public safety, 60 municipalities across the region and four police stations in Baguio City recorded zero crime incidents. These include 23 municipalities in Abra, nine municipalities in Benguet, eight municipalities each in Mountain Province and Ifugao, seven municipalities in Apayao, and five municipalities in Kalinga. Additionally, Police Station (PS) 1, PS6, PS8, and PS9 of Baguio CPO also recorded no crimes during this period.
Moreover, PRO CAR achieved a 75.41% crime clearance efficiency and a 73.77% crime solution efficiency, demonstrating the effectiveness of its operations.
In a statement, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, PRO CAR Regional Director, commended the police operatives for their unwavering dedication and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration with communities and stakeholders to further enhance crime prevention efforts.
ABRA PPO’S NEW PROVINCIAL DIRECTOR OFFICIALLY ASSUMES POST
PCOL FROILAND B LOPEZ officially assumes his post as the new Provincial Director of Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO), following the Turnover Ceremony held at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on April 2, 2025.
The ceremony was presided over by PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, Regional Director of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR), and attended by PBGEN ROGELIO Z RAYMUNDO, JR, Deputy Regional Director for Administration; PCOL JULIO S LIZARDO, Deputy Regional Director for Operations; PCOL LEDON D MONTE, Chief Regional Staff; the Regional Staff; the Special Staff; and other PRO CAR personnel.
The highlight of the event was the symbolic transfer of command responsibility from the outgoing Provincial Director, PCOL GILBERT A FATI-IG, to the incoming Provincial Director, PCOL LOPEZ, through the ceremonial turnover of the command symbol and the property and equipment inventory book.
The event concluded with a message from PBGEN PEREDO, JR, who expressed his deep appreciation for the contributions of PCOL FATI-IG and welcomed PCOL LOPEZ as the new leader of the Abra police force. He also underscored the essential role of strong leadership in upholding peace and order in the province of Abra, particularly in light of the upcoming elections.
“The challenges of this election season call for heightened readiness, impartiality, and unwavering professionalism. Let us serve as guardians of democracy by ensuring that the electoral process is free from violence, intimidation, and any form of lawlessness,” the Regional Director added.
Following this transition, PCOL FATI-IG will now assume his new position as the Chief of the Regional Operations Division of PRO CAR.**
