BAGUIO CITY – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will conduct at least 11 more computerized licensure examinations in the city in a bid to make their conduct more efficient and minimize the job of the agency.
“The PRC Board wants to shift the conduct of the licensure examination to computerized but it will be done slowly,” Juanita Domogen, regional director of the PRC-CAR, said in an exclusive interview of the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Monday.
She said they started the computerization with the Chemical Engineers licensure examination last May 21 to 23 which was completed smoothly.
Domogen said that from the previous three to five days of waiting for results, the examinees learned of their performance within 24 hours.
She said there were 110 examinees, out of whom 79 or 71.82 percent passed. Three examinees in Baguio also made it to the top 10.
“The Board is shifting the (conduct of the licensure) examination (to computerized) starting from the exams with minimal takers or the small board exams,” she said.
The following examinations are expected to be computerized until December this year: Certified Plant Mechanic, Food Technologists, Sanitary Engineers, Librarians, Psychologists, Chemists, Mining Engineers, Veterinarians, Nutritionists-Dietitians, Chemical Engineers and X-Ray Technologists.**Liza Agoot
