LAGAWE, IFUGAO – – Angie Guinid is a woman with nurtured vision and an innate straight forwardness.
In fact, her friends would describe her as persistent that reflects that of her noticeable personal characteristic.
She strongly influenced the formation of the Lagawe Dance Sports Club (LDC). She has been at the forefront of its founding this year. While Lagawe dance sports hopefuls have continuously faced enormous difficulties showing their mettle outside of the province, the aspiration to contribute to the town’s dance sports development has remained at Guinid’s heart for quite some time.
“I realize that the formation of the Lagawe Dance Sports Club is the best answer to the clamor for an organized effort to develop this sport in this part of Ifugao,” Guinid told the ZigZag Weekly.
Think again, through the just-concluded summer camp and recital activities, attendees experienced multi-step routines set typically by instructors to address different aspect of dance sports.
Known to be a time-honored training ground, the summer camp offers a wealth of genuine theoretical benefits for young enthusiasts. Here they get to refine a technique or improve several skills. Surely, it inspired many to feast on their hearts content on what await for the next dance adventure.
What can the town gain from the LDC?
While you can’t possibly watch your young ones each second daily, especially while you’re busy working at the office, you can enlist them at the LDC thus, take care of them in ways that matter. It’s time to harness the full potential of the youth through sports that keeps them away from vices.
This bodes well for the youth sector. Giving youngsters healthy life and productive future.
The real challenge is ensuring the expansion of dance sports in the grassroots level. This is an opportunity for networking and raising awareness of dance sports in this level.
So embark on a journey to rediscover young talents in public schools. After all, youth inclusion is one of the most important elements to create a more sustainable future. Quality of dance sports outreach capacity determines the future of the LDC.
Yes, the LDC is indeed destined to be a relevant NGO if and only if it takes the right direction. Cooperation and involvement of members matter. Welcome others, most especially lowlanders. Their insights are timely and relevant. It’s time for a different dimension. Get their insights into ways of winning in big time competitions. Embody their insights in surprising and delightful ways.
Providing support to Guinid, the LDC president, are officers such as Rachz Cabbigat, vice president; Vanie Bulayo, treasurer and Delia Ali, secretary.
Guinid listen to them and the LDC conducted a recital. The recital has so much to say about the mood of the participants. It instills their souls and invigorate their minds. When they’re young, everything is new and exciting, and everything seems to matter so much. The participants truly treasured different moments at the recital.
For now, the LDC is eyeing to compete in provincial and regional tournaments.
Dance, dance and dance as driven by a passion for creativity. Mediocrity has no place in dance sports. Dance well and face each day with great optimism. **By Anthony A. Araos
