I know somebody, a young lad, whose plate is full of troubling issues now. I advised him thus, the secret to life is to keep on going. It is not so different from what a friend once wanted to advise the whole country when it was facing economically troubled times. That is, for everyone to put up their own businesses, no matter how small, and to keep busy.
In my case, what is more fitting is to just keep on going. I was finalizing a billing statement for a client the other day when I realized I was not well enough to be doing a lot of heavy stuff a lawyer or an editor under high pressure should be doing. My typing skills are not even up to par the way they used to be. And my health issues don’t allow me to spend sleepless nights. Yet I have to keep on going slowly, adding bit by bit to my workload. For the opposite would be to deteriorate. No, thank you.
So I started doing more for this paper. Hope to add more, bit by bit, every week.
And I realized I am in a much better situation. Think off those who cannot even come up with a coherent paragraph, or those who can’t even do some minor editing job, or those who are so physically challenged they could not even sit up to just even tinker with a keyboard.
Yes, we who can read this must keep on going and improve ourselves bit by bit.
How I wish our political leaders will improve every day in serving the interests of their constituents and to keep on going that way. **
