Over 240,000 examinees nationwide took the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Career Service Examination–Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) on 9 August 2026 while severe weather forced testing postponements across the National Capital Region (NCR) and parts of Region IV and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The suspensions, ordered to ensure public safety amid adverse weather conditions, affected 67,255 registered applicants (59,558 Professional and 7,697 Subprofessional level).
CSC Chairperson Marilyn B. Yap reassured affected examinees that their safety remains paramount, advising them to monitor official CSC communication channels and regional Facebook pages for updates on rescheduled exam dates.
Where testing proceeded as scheduled, the CSC reported a smooth and orderly turnout across 83 testing centers. Nationwide attendance reached 89.76 percent, with 240,972 out of 268,468 registered applicants taking the exam, while 27,496 were unable to attend.
By examination level:
Professional Level: 220,395 out of 245,396 registered examinees took the exam (89.81% attendance rate).
Subprofessional Level: 20,577 out of 23,072 registered examinees attended (89.19% attendance rate).
Chairperson Yap commended field personnel, local government units, partner agencies, and examinees for their cooperation in ensuring the exam’s integrity and smooth administration.
“The CSE remains a vital gateway for individuals aspiring to serve in government, and the Commission is proud of the collective efforts that uphold the integrity, credibility, and accessibility of our civil service examinations. At the same time, the safety and well-being of our stakeholders remain our foremost consideration,” Chairperson Yap said.
The official list of passers is expected to be posted on the CSC website on or before 12 October 2026. **
