Going all the way back to high school, I can remember teachers in their adamance of future plans being solidified for students. Ambitions must be set in place already. It was rare to find fellow students who did not see their future plans in the clear. Students, like myself just blurted out what came at the top of our heads. Our heads at the time could only look
forward to what the weekend offered, much less several years down the line.
In university, many have already figured out where they want to go. It may not be what they dreamed of when they had teenage acne, but it is an ambition that students deem worth pursuing.
Then again, the option of shifting to other courses is there for a reason. Late bloomers who only came to their eureka moment transfer to other schools or colleges to give chase on a now clear path. What was once a blurry image of the future cleared up. It’s just something about stressful assignments that push students to what they really want in life.
Futures of people are not something to be rushed but things to be gotten right. Like hitting a bull’s eye, it is pointless to rush your throw and compromise accuracy.
Looking at others who do not get the privilege of pursuing their dream in life, it is an extreme luxury for people in classrooms whose passions are lit aflame. It is nothing but bleak what others see in front of them. Living in a nation where opportunities for children and adults alike are limited, it makes it worth to pursue an ambition that can be of help to fellow Filipinos.
Careful and decisive, a single person with a plan can break the generational unfair cycle that several families go through. Causing changes within and outside the system can only be for those who dare to trek what our national heroes went through. For those who truly represent the will of the masses, their dreams are no longer theirs alone but for the people.
Not everyone can still see clearly what is in front of them or what they even want to see. It is worth a shot to envision the peoples’ dream instead and how we can go about in making it a reality.
Patience in the end without it reaching passivity is what others need. Without others’ pushing and relentless pressure, a person can arrive to where they were destined to be. Step by step, progress gets us somewhere eventually.
It is a fun mystery to find out where we will head to, as long as we keep moving, and keeping in mind how our lives can be of service to a nation in need of help.
