Bontoc, Mountain Province – The provincial local government unit of Mountain Province (PLGU-MP) is now accepting applications of college students who would like to avail of financial aid in the amount of P4,000 every semester.
The Mountain Province Student Financial Assistance Program (MPSFAP) is one of the special programs of the PLGU- MP that caters to poor but deserving students.
According to Simonette Clyde Fang-asan of the Office of the Governor, former grantees of the program and new applicants are given until September 15, 2016 to submit all requisites at the Executive Assistant’s Section- Provincial Governor’s Office, 2nd Floor, Provincial Capitol Building.
The selection of grantees depend on the occupation and income of an applicant’s parents; number of children in the family; and civil status of the applicant- orphans, working students and members of a single-parent family are given priority.
As part of the process, interested applicants must submit an application letter or letter of intent signifying interest to be included as a grantee addressed to the governor; duly-accomplished application forms of which are available at the Office of the Governor; true copy of grades; and certificate of enrollment. Grantees who want to be renewed must submit their grades and certificates of enrollment.
Also, a grantee of the program must finish the course he/she is enrolled in within the expected number of years for the course’s completion. Moreover, one must be currently enrolled and must attend convocations and other activities organized for the MPSFAP grantees.
An applicant or a grantee can be disqualified or removed from the list if he/she has a failing grade and does not submit all the requirements before the deadline. //Alpine L. Killa, PIO-MP
