The inevitability of peace ending is always a bitter one to swallow. Though very hard not to notice the coming of the end, we try all we can to reject a reality we do not accept. The short break that some students enjoy is quickly dissipating. Some time is needed still to come to terms with that.
It won’t be long now when the city will be at full capacity as more and more students come back from their home provinces. From all directions will they come flooding back.
For now, the only dam that holds back the tide are the few days left in our short break. Cracks can be seen with the line of students enrolling in their respective colleges. Day by day the line only gets longer and it is only a glimpse of what is to come when the day of reckoning finally arrives.
Until the bell rings though, the days to enjoy are still bright. The dreadful night before the first day of classes may whisper threats but far enough away to be a bother.
The time for contemplating or worrying only wastes the precious hours to do something and actually enjoy. Overthinkers like myself have often fallen into the trap of a rabbit hole that nervousness presents. Days off are just so hard to come by nowadays that we put too much effort in planning it out completely for the sake of getting the best out of those days. We often forget to live in the moment and enjoy every second instead.
Now that our days are numbered and we will soon be contributing to heavy traffic in the coming weeks, the time to prepare is near. We all must eventually be honest in what we see in reality, because reality won’t change no matter how much we lie to ourselves.
The vision only becomes clear when our own lies are out of the way. What we have to do becomes all the more important. We can then focus on the task at hand.
The cycle of time moves on and we must do our best to keep up with it. Look for joy in each day so we don’t become too miserable. Even in days of severe stress we can chuckle at random videos we find online or be at ease with the people around us we are comfortable with.
Live and let live, joy is for everyone and everyone deserves it. No reason for letting reality define our entire lives, we are free to make each day better than yesterday, including the upcoming days of jam-packed classes. **
