BAGUIO CITY –The Baguio City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) has been nominated to the 2017 Civil Service Commission Pagasa Regional Award (group category).
The CSC Pagasa Award is conferred to an individual or group of individuals for outstanding contributions resulting from an idea or performance which directly benefit more than one department of the government.
The CDRRMO has been in charge of ensuring the protection and welfare of the people during disasters or emergencies.
Being at the helm of disaster preparations, response and rescue activities of the city, the CDRRMO’s job that requires constant innovations in the field of communication, warning signals, emergency, transportation, evacuation, rescue, engineering, health and rehabilitation, public education and auxiliary services.
For the feat, the CDRRMO headed by team leader Yolanda Munar was one of the honorees during the Regional Recognition Rites of Outstanding Employees, Achievers and Agency Partners held last Sept. 22.
CSC Cordillera Director IV Marilyn Taldo invited the CDRRMO for being “our partner in promoting integrity, excellence and ‘malasakit’ in public service and for having been nominated as one of the 2017 Pagasa Regional Awardees under the commission’s Honor Awards Program.”
The awards program with the theme, “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani” is one of the main features of the month-long celebration of the of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary in the region. **Aileen P. Refuerzo
