BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The local government unit of Baguio highlights the resiliency of families in the city this Family Month of September. With the localized theme “Pamilyang Matatag sa Baguio, Pamana sa Bawat Pilipino,” Cynthia Langagan of the City Social Welfare and Development Office said they aim to emphasize the resilience of families living in the city amidst the challenges.
This year’s national theme is “Pamilyang Tumutugon sa Pagbabago ng Panahon.”
“Tinitingnan natin dito ‘yung resiliency ng lahat ng families in the city of Baguio wherein despite all the challenges, ‘yung mga pandemic, ‘yung mga calamities na pinagdaanan natin, nakikita natin kung gaano katatag, gaano ka-resilient ‘yung pamilyang nasa city of Baguio,” Langagan said.
Baguio City Council Committee on Social Services, Women and Urban Poor chairperson Councilor Elmer Datuin said all the activities focus on the importance of families.
“It’s a month-long celebration where we will emphasize the family. Siyempre, family is life, family is everything, there are many things that we can learn, how we will strengthen our family relationship during this month because ‘yun ang focus po natin,” Datuin said.
One major activity this month is the Search for Natatanging Pamilyang Pilipino ng Baguio. The winner of the search will represent the city in the regional search.
