BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Baguio City Police Office Tourist Police Unit (BCPO TPU) will deploy personnel to key tourist destinations in the city this coming holiday to ensure maximum security and assistance.
BCPO TPU Acting Chief PCpt. Edith Aspilan said they will particularly assign personnel to Burnham Park, Botanical Garden, Wright Park, Mines View Park, and Mirador Heritage and Eco Park.
She said that aside from their personnel, they will have augmentations from the different police stations of the BCPO.
They also continue to coordinate with their partner stakeholders, including the Public Order and Safety Division, security guards at Burnham Park, and other volunteer groups, she added.
“Meron kasi kaming approved volunteer groups na tumutulong din po sa amin na mag-implement ng peace and order,” Aspilan said in a media interview on Oct. 28, 2025.
Aspilan said that they will also be implementing a 12-hour duty among their personnel to ensure the security of locals and tourists visiting the tourist destinations this long weekend.
She also reminded the visitors to be vigilant and secure their valuables.
“Hinihingi ko po na maging mapagmatyag pag pupunta sila, hindi nila pababayaan yung mga gamit nila, minsan po kasi nakakaligtaan nila. i-secure din po nila lahat ng valuables nila para hindi mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga may masamang balak na mag-take advantage,” Aspilan reminded.
The BCPO has observed a significant increase in tourists this week as the Department of Education implemented the wellness break until October 30. It said it anticipates a surge in the number of tourists on November 1 and 2. **DEG-PIA CAR
