BAGUIO CITY – It’s all systems go for the city government here in connection with the second leg of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” National Vaccination Days (NVD) from December 15-17 that primarily targets those who have not been jabbed against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
In an interview on Wednesday, City Public Information Office chief Aileen Refuerzo said the city is targeting to serve all the 14,229 registered unvaccinated individuals from the city’s 16 health districts.
She noted that according to the city Health Services Office (HSO), 5,147 individuals missed their second dose and they are being located and also targeted for the three-day activity.
Based on the vaccination report released on Tuesday night, 99.54 percent of the 281,000 target population received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 87.10 percent have been fully vaccinated.
A report from the HSO also showed that 21,505 of the 42,811 pediatric population aged 12 to 17 have received their full dose of the vaccine while 29,805 have received at least one dose.
There were also 12,604 eligible individuals who have received their booster shots.
Refuerzo said the city will continue to receive vaccinees at the three mega and the district vaccination sites daily and not only during the NVD.
She added that the city’s mobile vaccination teams continue to attend to the special and immobilized clients including senior citizens.
The NVD II will employ the same whole-of-society and whole-of-government approach, with a national target of some 8.4 million doses to be administered.
During the NVD I from November 29 to December 1, the city vaccinated 21,177 individuals either with the first or second dose, as well as booster shots.
Refuerzo said the city is confident it will be able to attain its target for the NVD II.
She said unvaccinated individuals can register at bakuna.baguio.gov.ph. **PNA
