Underscoring the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the advocacy to support fellow water utilities, the Baguio Water District donated a total of nine (9) reconditioned vehicles to selected water districts last April 24, 2019.
Four (4) Mitsubishi L300 FB, two (2) Suzuki multi-cabs, and three (3) Honda TMX155 motorcycles were officially turned over by the Baguio WD to water districts in Region 1 particularly Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Naguillan, La Union.
In a simple ceremonial turn-over of these vehicles, Baguio WD Vice Chairperson Engr. Felino D. Lagman and General Manager Engr. Salvador M. Royeca led the signing of deeds of donation as BWD management officers and representatives of the recipient-water districts witnessed the event.
Beneficiaries of L300 FB vehicles are Sarrat Water District of Ilocos Norte represented by GM Florence S. Gelacio; Candon City Water District of Ilocos Sur represented by BOD Chairperson Dante G. Pacquing; Mapandan Water District of Pangasinan represented by GM Isagani G. Dacanay; and Naguillian Water District represented by GM Jove F. Costales.

Baguio WD GM Royeca stressed on the water utility’s advocacy to be of assistance to its neighboring water districts, “Being the largest water district in the Cordillera Administrative Region, we always advocate providing aid to our neighbors. These vehicles will serve as valuable assistance in the mobility of the WD’s field crews in their day-to-day operations.” Royeca said.
Last year, Baguio WD donated six (6) motor vehicles. This deed, added to BWD’s various CSR activities, paved way for the BWD to be one of the four (4) national awardees of the “Huwarang Lingkod-Tubig Award” during the 5th World Water Day Awards held in Quezon City last March 22, 2019. **Mark Victor Pasagoy
