The Cabalyero Cops of Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) discovered and destroyed marijuana plants worth PhP1,105,000.00 in a series of marijuana eradication operations conducted in the province of Benguet on November 14, 2024.
According to reports from Benguet PPO, approximately 5,525 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants with a Standard Drug Price of PhP1,105,000.00 were discovered across 12 marijuana plantation sites in the municipalities of Bakun, Kibungan, and Kapangan. The said operation was successful through the joint efforts of the operatives from Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Bakun MPS, Kapangan MPS, 1st and 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Companies, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit-Benguet and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-CAR.
All discovered marijuana plants were documented, uprooted, and burned on-site, with enough samples taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR for qualitative examination. Further, investigations are ongoing to identify cultivators and locate more marijuana plantation sites in nearby areas. **
