LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) — The province of Benguet remains generally peaceful despite the reported increase of crime incidents for the first semester of the year.
Benguet Police Provincial Office Deputy Provincial Director for Operations PLt. Col. Baldwin Sokoken reported that Benguet recorded an increase of 159 crime incidents or 63.6% in the first semester compared to the same period last year.
From January 1 to June 15, 2022, the Benguet PPO recorded 409 crime incidents compared to the 250 cases recorded in 2021.

For the index Crimes, there was an increase of nine incidents or 16.67% from 54 to 63 while there was a decrease of 5.81% for the non-index crimes.
