Bontoc, Mountain Province – The first-ever Creative Street Dancing competition marked the 116th Foundation Day of this capital town with a showcase of local talent. Various high schools performed in front of an enthusiastic crowd, celebrating culture and community.
Saint Vincent’s School Inc. (SVSI) claimed the Champion title with their performance on “Og-ogfo,” earning an average score of 97.225. SVSI received a total of 40,000.00, which included the original 30,000.00 prize from the Bontoc Local Government Unit and an additional 10,000.00 from Congressman Maximo Dalog, Jr.
Mainit National High School took the First Runner-Up spot, with their performance featuring “Te-er Hi Hamar,” garnering an average score of 93.47. They received 35,000.00, including 25,000.00 from the Bontoc Local Government Unit and 10,000.00 from Congressman Dalog.
Albago National High School earned the Second Runner-Up position with “Legend of Kaman-utek,” which scored 92.5. They took home 30,000.00, including 20,000.00 from the Bontoc Local Government Unit and an additional 10,000.00 from Congressman Dalog.
Dalican National High School placed as Third Runner-Up with their performance on “Vegnas,” scoring 91.71. They were awarded 25,000.00, with 15,000.00 from the Bontoc Local Government Unit and 10,000.00 from Congressman Dalog.
Other participating schools included Mountain Province General Comprehensive High School, Tocucan National High School, Talubin National High School, Guina-ang National High School, and All Saints Mission School each received a consolation prize amounting to 20,000.00.
In this regard, Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr., expressed his gratitude for the participation of the schools and their efforts in showcasing local culture. He highlighted the importance of preserving traditions through creative expression and commended the students for their hard work and dedication to the competition.
