The League of Municipal Mayors of Mountain Province passed a resolution, endorsed by Gov. Bonifacio Lacwasan Jr., addressed to the regional director of the DILG for the status of the province to be reverted from General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Due to the absence of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province, its status was relaxed and it was put under GCQ where travel is allowed but with certain conditions to assure social distancing, and some businesses are allowed to open. The mayors, however, felt that this will endanger the safety of their constituents as it will be a chance for some infected individuals to get into the province and, consciously or unconsciously, transmit the dreaded disease.
But the request was denied just like those of other provinces like La Union, Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur.
