The Benguet State University’s main conference hall was renamed from Administration Conference Room to Rogelio Dulay Colting, Sr. (RDC) Conference Hall. This was formally declared during the unveiling ceremonies on December 14, 2021.
According to BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila, the decision to rename the Administration Conference Hall was in honor and tribute to the late Dr. Rogelio D. Colting, Sr, the University’s fourth President who passed on last October 17,2021. He further said that the renaming of the Hall was approved by the Administrative Council.
Dr. Colting is BSU’s fourth President. Having his roots in Tublay, Benguet, he was the first Ibaloi Alumni (High School) to be appointed by the Board of Regents as President for two terms or eight years (2003-2011). His advocacies include: Students’ First Policy, Academic Excellence, Organic Agriculture, among others. These were manifested in his 10 Point Agenda.
It was during his incumbency that BSU attained SUC Level IV under the Commission on Higher education (CHED).
Present during this activity were key officials of the University, Dr. Lita Molitas Colting, the wife of the late Dr. Colting, Sr. and family members.
