Feb. 25, 2026 – Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong directed the partial activation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) and the Barangay DRRMC members as preparedness and response to the crowd-drawing events in the city particularly the Panagbenga festivities, observance of the Lenten Season or the Holy Week and the summer vacation activities.
The mayor issued CDRRMC Memorandum No. 02, series of 2026 alerting key departments and offices for possible mobilization.
The Smart City Command Center (SC3), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), BDRRMCs, and the Public Information Office will be on Blue Alert from February 21, 2026 to April 30, 2026 to provide timely, accurate, and appropriate coordination with all warning and frontline agencies.
The City Engineering Office – Transportation and Traffic Management Division shall ensure available duty personnel, vehicles, and equipment ready to conduct road obstruction clearing operations while the City Environment and Parks Management Office shall ensure that all tour tourist destinations are well kept and safe.
The Public Order and Safety Division shall ensure the availability of manpower and vehicles to respond to emergencies.
The General Services Office shall ensure availability of manpower and vehicles to provide collection as well as dissemination of the proper disposal of garbage in coordination with the PIO.
The City Health Services Office shall activate all Health Emergency Response Teams and ensure the availability and accessibility of all District Health Centers to the general public.
Concerned barangays, especially those covering places of convergence and tourist destinations shall assist in traffic management and crowd control to ensure the safety of visitors and the general public.
The Baguio City Police Office shall ensure the safety and security of the general public, likewise, to serve as first responders.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Fire Protection – Baguio City Fire Station shall ensure the delivery of emergency response for fire incidents, medical and rescue. ** JM Samidan
