Bontoc, Mountain, Province – Director Anita Paredes of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Field Office- Mountain Province lauded the Bontoc Local Government Unit (LGU) for being agile and dynamic in adopting measures to ensure continuity in the delivery of public service amid new challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director Paredes joined the municipal elective officials and employees during the Monday Flag Raising Program and the opening of the Agri-Trade Fair in celebration of the 114th Bontoc Founding Anniversary and 18th Am-among Festival on September 12, 2022.
She remarked that the theme for this year’s founding anniversary of the capital town aligns with the 10-year theme of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebrated in September of every year as it both centers on resilience.
Paredes added that through social media, she is well informed and updated on the resilience shown by the Bontoc LGU workforce during the pandemic and their readiness to accept challenges and ability to give continued assistance to the public.
She mentioned how the pandemic has gravely affected all sectors of society and emphasized that in difficult times, it brings out the best in the Ifontok.
“Let us continue to cultivate the value of Og-ogfo. With this Og-ogfo, we can withstand any challenges”, Paredes remarked.
Meanwhile, during her visit, she turned over reading materials to Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr. Likewise, Paredes met with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Bontoc and employees of the Bontoc LGU as she went around the offices at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol. She was accompanied by Human Resource Management Officer Arleen Eickmee Gasmeña.
In response, the mayor thanked Director Paredes for her visit and assured that the Bontoc LGU shall continue to be agile and adapt to changes in the delivery of efficient, effective quality, and genuine service as it could be the best gift that civil servants could give to the public.
He added that in the roadmap of the administration for the next three years, “ENLANGAKHA: Achieving the Vision for a Dynamic Bontoc”, one of its pillars is Good Governance which he assured to continue to invest in human resource development.**Alpine L. Killa-Malwagay, Bontoc LGU
